WALIS Forum is one of the premier GIS events in Australia, attracting over 800 delegates from a diverse range of professions. Held every 18 months, the Forum provides an opportunity to address issues related to the all aspects of location-based information.

The Forum is open to everyone, however, is targeted to people working with geographic information or those who would like to find out how they can harness geographic information to improve their business. It aims to provide opportunities for people to learn, network, identify potential solutions and to share and debate strategies for the future and how the community can benefit from the latest geographic information tools.

The theme of Forum 09, Business Intelligence, Business Solutions and Education, aims to engage people with location-based information, demonstrate initiatives in the use of geographic information involving collaboration and sharing of information across government and the private sectors. The Forum promotes the importance of working together to build a strong geographic information infrastructure and network in a cooperative environment.
