Inquiry into Improving Access to Victorian Public Sector Information and Data

The Parliament of Victoria's Economic Development and Infrastructure Committee is conducting an Inquiry into Improving Access to Victorian Public Sector Information and Data. The Terms of Reference require the Committee to examine a range of issues surrounding the application of open content and open source licensing to improve access to Victorian government information and data.

The Committee has released a discussion paper which provides a general overview of some of the major issues pertaining to the Inquiry. Submissions are being sought on ways to improve access to public sector information and is encouraging key stakeholders—including businesses, industry, legal and community groups, government organisations and agencies—to make a submission to this inquiry. Submissions are due by 22 August 2008.
