The inaugural spatial@gov® Conference held at the National Convention Centre in Canberra on 15 and 16 June 2009 was a resounding success. In terms of statistics, the conference attracted 352 delegates, 67 presenters, 25 sponsors and 19 exhibitors.
There was a very real feeling of enthusiasm and a spirit of cooperation and collaboration between the government, commercial and academic spatial community delegates.
Many delegates expressed a view that the event was a significant step forward in bringing home the message about the benefits of applying spatial capabilities to the business of government. Many of the sponsors and exhibitors also expressed considerable interest in supporting an event next year and some initial planning for this has commenced.

This website will also provide the community the opportunity to make suggestions and proposals to help improve next year’s event.
