'Spatial information' advocate recognised on Australia Day 2010 Honours List

Warwick Watkins has been recognised on the Australia Day 2010 Honours List and awarded a Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia “for services to spatial information and natural resources management through leadership roles within a range of public sector agencies”.

Warwick is a tireless advocate for the spatial information industry in Australia. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the New South Wales Land and Property Management Authority, and the Surveyor General and Registrar General of NSW. Other positions Warwick currently holds include Chair of the Australian Spatial Consortium, Chair of ANZLIC—the Spatial Information Council, Foundation Director of the Cooperative Research Centre for Spatial Information, and President of the Board of Surveying and Spatial Information. This is the second time in three years that a person making contributions to the spatial industry has been recognised. Olaf Hedberg AM received an AM in 2008. Ollie is the Independent Chairman of PSMA Australia.
