The following groups were established to coordinate implementation of the Australian Government Policy on Spatial Data Access and Pricing ('Policy'). The Office of Spatial Data Management supports these groups.
Spatial Data Policy Executive
The Spatial Data Policy Executive (SDPE) is the peak body overseeing implementation of the Policy, and reports annually to the Minister for Industry, Tourism and Resources. The Chair of the SDPE also represents Australian Government interests on ANZLIC—the Spatial Information Council.

Spatial Data Management Group
The Spatial Data Management Group (SDMG) is responsible for monitoring and managing the implementation of the Policy. Membership of this group generally comprises officials at senior executive officer level, representing more than 30 Australian Government departments / agencies. The SDMG meets three times a year.

SDMG Working Groups
The SDMG establishes working groups to investigate and report on various technical issues. These working groups are composed of representatives from a number of Australian Government agencies.

From time to time, committees are established that may involve participation from organisations outside of the Australian Government, such as the private and academic sectors.
